What to Expect
What is the Preaching like?
Our preaching time is a big part of our service. We typically preach verse by verse and focus on understanding and applying the Bible to our daily lives. A typical calendar year will focus on a series from the Old Testament, the New Testament, the Life of Jesus, and a doctrinal topic. Our preaching is designed for application, not just information.
What is the music like?
Our musical worship style would be categorized as more traditional. Our focus is on the words rather than the style. We incorporate traditional hymns, modern choruses, and even kids' songs.
What accommodations do you have for children?
We focus on ministering to the entire family. During the worship service, we encourage all the children to sit with their parents. We have a time during each service when the children come onto the platform, and someone gives a short message to the kids each week. We also provide activity bags for the children to use during the worship service. We do have an area for parents to go if they are uncomfortable.
Am I expected to give?
You may notice that we do not pass an offering plate during the worship services. We believe God's people should support God's work. Therefore, we do not expect any financial contribution from you. It is our prayer that you will receive the life in Christ Jesus that He offers to you at no price.
If you are a follower of Jesus and a regular attendee of Holly Springs, we encourage you to worship the Lord through regular, cheerful giving as the Lord directs you. There are offering boxes in the lobby and in the Fellowship Hall where you may place your offerings.
What should I wear?
You will find someone in the church dressed like you. We are ordinary people who gather together to worship our God. So you will see everything from shorts to suits. We desire for God to reach your heart, so we try not to focus on the outward appearance unless it distracts others from worship.
